Gossip news sources claim that Rakhi Sawant, the Indian dancer, film and television actress and television talk show host, who hails from a Marathi Hindu family, has received many thousands of marriage proposals and profiles of men within 20 days of announcement of her new reality show Rakhi Ka Swayamwar, which is expected to go on air next month.

Men from all walks of life and professions want to try their luck with Rakhi. They include businessmen, doctors, models and NRIs. It is reported that over 14000 men from around the world have sent their proposals to marry Rakhi Sawant after she announced a Swayamvar as part of a reality show on NDTV Imagine.

The TV show and her desire to marry is announced full-blast in video ads across the Internet too in which she claims that whatever she gained in life is through TV and hence she is looking for someone special through TV and she asks, “If you have that special thing, you too are welcome to send a proposal”. Want to try a hand? Hurry up, the damsel is being flooded with offers from suitors of all denominations.

There will be a series of selection procedures and the number of suitors will be narrowed down to fifteen grooms. Rakhi will then choose from amongst 15 grooms on the show and will take the help of viewers to decide on her ideal man. According to the TV channel, NDTV Imagine, Delhi has topped the list of Rakhi's prospective grooms with 2,600 entries. Mumbai follows a close second with 2000 entries.

Most of her would-be-husbands are in the age group of 18 to 35 years. And the men have to register and the last date for registration ends on May 5.

For those who do not know about the date of birth of Rakhi Sawant, in case they like to meet an astrologer to find out what is in store for them if they start out life with her, note this: Rakhi Sawant is born on November 25, 1978. A well-known numerologist is of the opinion that 25 adds up to 7 (2+5=7) and her year of birth also adds up to 7 (1+9+7+8 =25, the compound numerological number that adds up, 2+5=). That means, NOW she is riding high on SATURN and the man who marries her will have a wonderful time with her, as SATURN is very kind to newly weds.

Shilpa Shetty plans to produce a movie on cricket, reports say. Sources close to the actress said despite sinking of the movie “Victory” without a trace at the box office, Shilpa is confident that her next project will work well.

"Shilpa was never so excited about cricket the way she is now after buying a stake in Rajasthan Royals. Now she also has some first-hand experience of what happens inside the dressing room and about inter-player relationships. She is convinced that it makes for a very good movie script," said the source.

The movie will be based on the Twenty-20 cricket, centering on IPL and a lot of things will be based on her personal experience at the tournament. The star players of Rajasthan Royals, Shane Warne and Graeme Smith are expected to appear in cameo roles in the film, in addition to other star Indian players. I think it will be crazy to ask people if they like to watch TV. Without fail, ask anyone, the answer will be, “Yes, why not?” The right thing to ask would be about one’s favorite channel, TV show, actor or actress. However, I prefer to watch TV regularly every day for some time, just to keep me away from the day-to-day professional tensions and to relax my mind. I feel fresh after viewing TV for some time. It rather rejuvenates my mind, as exercise keeps the body fit.

Mostly, at home, we watch movies, reality shows, contests, sports, and news. I do not have any favorite channel, show, actor or actress as far as watching TV is concerned. But I like to see any good performance by any actor or actress or TV personality or channel. I like to get the best quality pictures, sound and above all the program must be entertaining, not necessarily informative. I do not want to put my brain to drudgery, as my aim is to refresh my mind and enjoy watching TV.

I immensely love viewing Oprah Winfrey and Kim Kardashian (Keeping Up with the Kardashians). For news, I love CNN and BBC. When cricket matches are being aired live, I make it a point to view them, and I equally love football and Tennis live on TV.

I love watching James Bond (based on Ian Fleming’s novels) movies very much. I have seen almost all Bond movies starting with the first movie, “Dr. No”, featuring Sean Connery as James Bond. George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig are also fine actors who effectively portrayed “Mr. Bond”, the trend and style of whom were undoubtedly set by Sean Connery in the first movie itself. However, I think Sean Connery was the best Bond, though many of my friends have other favorites. Thankfully, many of my favorites are available on TV, excepting the new releases.

I like to watch TV from Direct TV satellite television, especially watching High Definition TV (HD TV programs) is quite interesting. I would like to take part in DIRECTV Awards contests. There can be quite a good number of contestants, and the competition can be tough! I expect most of my friends like you to vote for me to win DIRECTV BoB Awards for this post. Will you vote for me? Cheerleaders of IPL Twenty 20 team Royal Challengers, Bangalore: the custodians of Indian morality (moral police) had lots of heartburn when the chearleaders of the IPL teams were presented during the IPL Cricket matches in 2008. As the IPL matches are now held in South Africa, I did not find them loudmouthing moral lessons to other Indians in 2009, though the cheerleaders can be a bit more exposing in South Africa. Moreover, as the elections are now being held in India, it seems the moral police is in more profitable pastimes like playing one or two of their tricks to get their godfathers elected to the Indian Parliament.
