Dear readers of sportandbeauty. Today we’re going to talk about car races. To be precise about female auto racing drivers. Today’s guest is not any guest. Gorgeous girls and cars are a wonderful combination but in car racing the role of girls is usually restricted to that of umbrella girls. However, today we are presenting the most famous female auto racing driver in the world, Danica Patrick, owner of a stunning beauty. From now on I’ll forget about Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa and I’m going to be a constant Danica Patrick fan. Anybody to join me? Danica Patrick is a tiny great woman with a wonderful body and beautiful long brown hair. Danica Patrick is 156 centimeters tall and weighs 46 kilograms. Her juvenile features and round face give her a femenine look that matches her often masculine driver outfit. For sure, I prefer Danica to Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton. Here you are Danica Patrick, the most beautiful and sexy Indy Car Formula driver.....

Danica Patrick was born in Beloit, Wisconsin, USA on March 25, 1982. Danica grew up in a model family alongside her parents T.J. and Bev and her sister Brooke. It seems that Danica Patrick’s passion for motorsports is not something that comes from her childhood. When she was a little girl, Danica loved top lay with Barbie dolls like most of her peers. However, she first got contact with motorsports world being only years old. Danica Patrick accompanied his brother to a karts lesson and fell in love with the feeling of being seated behind the wheel of a fast car. While her brother Brooke soon gave up his “career” as a driver, Danica got hooked up on races and bécame a member of the World Karting Associaton. Se got hooked on karts and we are getting hooked on her.....

In only two years, Danica became enthused with car races and in 1994 won the US karting championship for Yamaha Sportsman Class. In addition, Danica also won other karting championships in 1995 and 1996 and became a new motorsports rising star. In 1997, her last karting season, she surprisingly got the National Championship for Yamaha Lite and HPV Classes. The next step in her promising career was to be very important as she managed to improve her competitive level by joining the Winter Series for Vauxhall Formula which forced her to leave the US and move to England. In 1998 Danica Patrick didn’t participate in many races as she devoted her efforts to improve her technique in the Formula Ford racing school in Canada. I think she can’t get any better....

It was in 1999 when Danica Patrick made her real debut in England. That season she finished in the ninth place, a position Danica would improve the following year when she managed to finish second, the best place ever got by a US driver. 2001 was her last year in England and that season Danica became famous before returning to the US. She got the Gorsline grant intended for the best promising racing driver and competed in the extremely demanding British Formula Ford Championship. As a result of all these feats Danica was presented as the best female racing driver with international experience. With a long list of achievements in her career Danica got the necessary support to move to the Indy Racing League. In 2002 and after a series of attempts, Danica sign a long-lasting contract with Rahal Letterman. In order to prepare herself for what was going to come, Danica joined Toyota Atlantic Series. I don’t know why because I consider Danica extremely well prepared for any kind of challenge…...

In 2003 Danica Patrick impressed not only her team but also her competitors. Not me because I had already been impressed by Danica long time ago…. She became the first female driver in Toyota Atlantic history ever to get the pole position and make it to the podium. In 2004 she finished fourth in the Toyota Atlantic Championship and was eventually ready to participate in the Indy Racing League. Danica Patrick became third driver for Rahal Letterman team and made her debut in the Toyota Indy 300 in 2005. Although Danica dropped out the race on lap 158, she had an impressive performance in the Indianapolis 500. Danica was the forth female driver to participate in this race creating an enormous expectation. Despite the pressure, Danica was on the lead for 19 laps to fall back towards the end of the race and finish in the fourth place. I think that her beauty deserved to have won the race…..

In July 2006 Danica Patrick announced she had signed a contract with Andretti Green team. Next season Danica made it to the podium thrice and finished 4 races amongst the top five and eleven amongst the top 10. April 2008 would be an important milestone in her career as she won her first race, the Indy Japan 300 in Twin Ring Motegi becoming the first female driver ever to win an IndyCar Series race. On May 24, 2009 Danica Patrick got the greatest achievement in her career so far. She finished third at the Indianapolis 500, setting a new record high finish for a female driver in the race. Danica finished the season 5th overall in the point standings, her highest finish to date. Although Danica was scheduled to test for Formula One team Honda in 2008, the test was was called off due to the Honda team pulling out of the competition. In late 2009, the no longer existing American F1 team US F1 allegedly considered testing Patrick for a potential drive in 2010. However, she stated that she wasn't contacted by anyone from the team, and that she had no plans to leave the IndyCar Series for Formula One at the time. If I were Flavio Briatore I would seriously consider to found a new team and offer Danica the wheel of a car. Flavio, don’t take it seriously. We don’t want you to divorce Elisabetta because you’re a nice couple.

Danica is also a star out of the circuit. She’s always ranked between the sexiest women on the most important lists. In 2006 she was ranked 42 out of 100 on the FHM’s sexiest women list and in 2007 she was ranked 85. In addition, Danica Patrick also appeared in the prestigious Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition in February 2008. In January 2009 Danica was ranked 91 on the list of the 99 most desired women and appeared again in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition the next month. I think you agree with me that she has an impressive CV. I’ll finish this post with a slideshow including Danica’s best pictures and a two videos of this beautiful female racing driver. Best regards.

Dear readers of fashiontotal. Today we’re going to honor the blog’s name and combine sport and beauty. Today’s post is dedicated to a female athlete who’s better know for her beauty than for her athletic skills. She’s been considered as the female athlete in the recently held Beijing Olympics beating some of the most acclaimed female athletes in the world such as Amanda Beard, Blanca Vlasic or Carolina Kluft. As some of you may have guessed today’s post is dedicated to the Paraguayan javelin thower Leryn Franco, a real stunner. Don’t you agree with me? I love the piercing she wears in her navel.

Leryn Franco is a statuesque Paraguayan athlete who besides being really gorgeous is also a kind of javelin thrower. Leryn was born in Asuncion, the capital city of Paraguay, on March 1 1982. She’s 175 centimeters high and her measures are those of a top model 94-60-90. Leryn participated in the last Olympic Games held in Beijing (her second Olympic Games because se had already competed in Athens 2004). I love her sports outfit and she looks really nice dressed as a javelin thrower. Nice sunglasses and nice bum. No wonder that she also trudges the catwalk besides throwing the javelin. In Athens 2004 she was ranked 42nd in the overall standings and in Beijing she didn’t do much better and finished in 51st position throwing the javelin 10 meters short of her personal best (55.38 metres). It seems that the only thing she did in Beijing was to get acquainted with Serbian tennis player and bronze medalist Novak Djokovic. As I said before Leryn is not only an athlete but also a professional model. She’s more of a model than a javelin thrower. Leryn Franco participated in Miss Paraguay contest in 2006. She almost won the contest getting the second place. Had I been a member of the jury she would’ve won for sure. After that, Leryn represented Paraguay in the Miss Bikini contest held in Behai’s beches in Southeast China where she again got the second place and was named First Princess after Ucranian representative Olena C. Why Princess? She’s a real Queen. Leryn says that working as a model allows her to keep on doing her favorite sport since the timetable is quite flexible and she can earn quite a lot of money as a photograph and catwalk model. Pay attention to the picture below. She had better be careful when walking down the catwalk unless she wants to show off her really nice boobs what I don’t mind at all. Besides modeling Leryn has joined the group of girls who have launched calendars in recent years and she posed for her own calendar in 2007. The pictures were taken by Martin Crespo and some of them, which you can see in the slideshow at the end of the post, are really nice. To conclude I’ll leave a video so you can see her dressed in fashionable sport clothes and throwing the javelin at an athletic meeting. Best regards.

Dear readers of Sport & Beauty. Sport and fashion are closely related. Female sport stars sometimes try to pursue a career in modeling or occassionally work as models. Perhaps the most famous example are Russian players Anna Kournikova and Maria Sharapova. But there are also beautiuf and gourgeous sportwomen in other sports. Today we are going to dedicate this post to the world’s female swimmer of all time: Amanda Beard. Amanda Ray Beard was born on October 29, 1981, in Irvine, California, United States of America. Both her sisters, Leah and Taryn, swam at local clubs and to impress them, Amanda Beard began jumping in the pool as early as four years of age. Eventually Amanda joined a swimming club and she soon started to stand out amongst her mates. In 1995, she earned a U.S. National Title in the 100-meter breaststroke, was named a National A team member, and took second place in the Pan Pacific Championships for the 400-meter medley relay. Amanda Beard was selected for the U.S. National Team that was gearing up for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. At the Games, Amanda Beard didn't disappoint. She took the silver medal in both the 100-meter and 200-meter breaststroke, and the gold for her contribution in the breaststroke leg of the 400-meter medley relay. In doing so, she became the second-youngest American gold medalist in swimming history (Pokey Watson still retains the top title from her 1964 win). Amanda Beard graduated from high school in 1999 and enrolled at the University of Arizona, where she flourished even more under a new swimming coach. She took the silver at the 1999 World University Games in the 100-meter breaststroke, and the following year won the silver in the 200-meter at the NCAA Championships. She would take the event's top medal in 2001.

Amanda's performance at the 2000 Sydney Games was largely ignored by the media. She took the bronze in the 200-meter breaststroke (her fourth Olympic medal) but this latest accomplishment didn't grab any headlines. Nonetheless, the sporting world continued to view Amanda Beard as a hero. When she took a year off school in 2001 to travel the world to swim professionally, clubs throughout the world invited her to lead clinics and give motivational speeches. She wasn't just a pretty swimmer. She was a smart, inspiring pretty swimmer. In 2002, she broke the American record in the 200-meter breaststroke at the Swimming World Cup, and bagged two gold medals in the Pan Pacific Championships. In 2003, she scored the highest honor of her still-burgeoning career. At the World Championships in Barcelona, she broke the world record in the 200-meter, becoming the No. 1 breaststroke swimmer throughout the world and history. At the 2004 Athens Games Amanda took the gold in the 200-meter breaststroke and the 400-meter relay. Away from the swimming pool Amanda Beard has also done some modeling. She has graced different issues of FHM and Playboy and has also modeled for the 2006 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. I personally prefer her photo shooting for FHM (you can see the pictures in the slide at the end of the post). Like Pamela Anderson, Joanna Krupa and Fernanda Tavares amongst many others, Amanda is also an enthusiastic environmentalist and she usually cooperates with PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) in campaigns against the use of fur for clothing. Under the slogan “I’d rather be naked than wear fur” she tried to pose naked for PETA last week in Beijing but she had to give up since Chinese authorities banned the protest for public security reasons. Maybe Chinese authorities feared thousands of excited Amanda’s fans jumping at her. To finish with the post I’ll leave a slideshow with Amanda's pictures and a video where you can see this pretty American swimmer being interviewed. We sincerely wish her all the best at the Beijing Olympic Games. Best Regards.

Hi friends!! Let’s change gears and let’s go back into sports again. Imagine the scenario and try to guess the place: a sunny day, a cheering crowd, a sandy court, a volleyball net and four people trying to pass the ball over the net. Most probably you would say that we’re talking about California or Rio de Janeiro. You could be right but not necessarily. This could also happen in Paris, New York or Gstaad.

The sport we are talking about is beach volleyball and can be played anywhere. I must confess that I like women’s beach volleyball. You can find a wonderful atmosphere, beautiful cheerleaders, and perfect bodies under the sun. But there’s something I don’t understand. Why so much touching, kissing and close physical contact after winning a point?? Without a doubt our guests are the queens in the kingdom of women’s beach volleyball. You will have guessed that I’m referring to Kerri Walsh (born August 15, 1978) and Misty May-Treanor (born July 30, 1977) the famous and successful American beach volleyball team that won the gold medal in the last Olympic Games held in Athens in 2004.
They both started playing indoor volleyball in high school and kept on playing in university where they won several titles. Kerri Walsh graduated from Stanford in 1999 with a degree in American Studies and Misty May-Treanor graduated from California State University, Long Beach. In recent years they have worked a lot to boost beach volleyball and help make it a popular sport. In the 2004 Summer Olympics, Kerri and Misty won the gold medal for women’s beach volleyball for the US team. Winning an unprecedented ninety-one matches and 16 tournaments in a row, Walsh and May captured the gold without losing a single game. Currently Walsh is ranked as the best female volleyball player in the world, and the Kerri Walsh-Misty May duo seems to be almost unstoppable on both the AVP and FIVB Beach Volleyball tours. Further into the future, they are likely to participate in the 2008 Beijing Olympics as a strong seed to win a second gold medal. As beach volleyball is a sport where athletes can perform effectively well into their 30's, such a prediction is within reason. Kerri is married to men's beach volleyball player Casey Jennings, and Misty is married to Florida Marlins catcher Matt Treanor.

woman fly? Apparently not. Only apparently. This Russian athlete,Yelena Isinbayeva, can. All she needs is a pole and a cheering crowd backing her. For a split second she seems to stop well over the crossbar and smile to the crowd before falling onto the landing mat. Yelena was born in Volgograd, the former Stalingrad, in Russia. Maybe when she was a child she was imbued with the spirit and strenght of those who defended her hometown during WWII. Now Yelena lives up to their memory. Yelena Isinbayeva goes higher and higher like a Soyuz spacecraft but using only her muscles and a pole.

Beautiful Yelena Isinbayeva

Yelena flies like a wingless Pegasus of the modern era. Isinbayeva won the 2004 Olympic Gold Medal with a new World Record (then 4.91 m), was elected Female Athlete of the Year by the IAAF twice (2004 and 2005), and Sportswoman of the Year by Laureus, and has set 20 world records. Unbelievable. On July 22, 2005, Yelena became the first female pole vaulter to clear 5.00 metres. She's not only one of the best athletes in the world but also one of the prettiest female athletes. In the recent World Championships in Athletics held in Osaka she revalidated her World Champion title although she was not able to break her own world record getting only 4.80. A real flying woman: Yelena Isinbayeva.

This blog is intended for lovers of sport and beauty. Here you'll find nice picture galleries and videos related to either sport or beauty or both of them. This post is about the Swedish heptathlete Carolina Kluft who has just revalidated her World Champion title in the World Championships in Athletics which are taking place in Osaka, Japan in August 2007. Carolina has scored 7,032 points. Congratulations Carolina!!. The nice looking pigtailed, baby-faced athlete is made of Swedish iron. Carolina tests herselft to the limit in every championship. Carolina Kluft runs faster, jumps longer and throws farther than any of her competitors. Carolina has become the third women ever to break the 7,000 point barrier in the heptathlon. The Swedish heptathlete signed a contract to become the new face of Reebok for the coming years. The first thing Carolina asked Reebok representatives was whether or not they use children to produce their gear. They said they don't. Anyway Carolina told them she will visit Reebok's factories just to be sure. On March 19, 2008 Carolina announced she would not contest any heptathlons in 2008 and so, wouldn't defend her title at Beijing, stating that she was no longer motivated to train for and compete in heptathlons. Klüft decided to concentrate on long jump and also train seriously for triple jump. Carolina Kluft entered both the long jump and triple jump at the Beijing 2008 Olympics. Her best effort of 13.90m did not qualify her for the triple jump final and she ended ninth in the long jump with a result of 6,49. Carolina, don't worry and keep trying because whatever your results we'll always love you.
