TENNIS PLAYERS GIRLFRIENDS

Posted by mista
Dear readers of Sport and Beauty. In today’s post we’re going to talk about tennis. To be precise we’ll talk about tennis and beauty. Don’t worry because we won’t review the top ranked tennis players but their WAG,s (wives and girlfriends). I have an idea deep inside my mind. Money usually attracts gorgeous girls and we have quite a few examples: Flavio Briatore, Bernie Ecclestone, Hugh Heffner,… But when it comes to gorgeous WAG,s, soccer stars and tennis players win hands down. I don’t know why but I’ve never seen a javelin thrower or a high jumper married to such beautiful women as soccer or tennis stars usually do. Do you know the woman on the left hand side? I think so. Victoria Beckham is probably the most famous WAG in history.

When it comes to having a lot of success with girls, Spanish players are the best and two of them are light years ahead of the rest. Fernando Verdasco, aka “Fer”, and Feliciano Lopez, aka “Feli”, are partners in the court but have a fierce competition outside trying to win pretty girl’s hearts. Although they are quite good they don’t win a lot of tournaments. I fully understand them because they have to save some strength to satisfy their girlfriends. Had I known all of this, instead of buying a guitar I would have bought a tennis racquet and taken some lessons….

We’ll start talking about Fernando Verdasco. Fernando Verdasco Carmona, aka “Fer”, was born in Madrid on November 15, 1983. He’s 187 centimetres high, weighs 81 kilos and, so far, his career earnings total up to over 4 million $. To date he hasn’t win many ATP tournaments but he’s improving day after day and he’s made it through the 2009 Masters Cup held in London. He has only three ATP titles (Valencia, Umag, and New Haven) but was decisive in Spain’s victory in the 2008 Davis Cup final and reached the Australian Open semi-finals in January 2009. But when it comes to dating beautiful girls, no doubt he’s the number one seed. He’s always accompanied by the most beautiful women. Have a look at the way these fans greet him and also at Fernando’s underwear under the swimsuit. Will he bathe with the underwear on?

Our hero started his career as a latin lover in 2004 dating Spanish actress and dancer Dafne Fernandez known for her work in the TV series “UPA dance” and “Fama”. The truth is that they didn’t last for long.

In 2006, after breaking with Dafne, Fernando Verdasco started dating Spanish model Priscilla de Gustin. Priscilla is a real stunner. She was born in Madrid in 1981 and has breathtaking measurements (89-61-89). If you don’t believe me, have a look at this picture where you can see her sporting a nice zebra-like dress.

Unfortunately the thing didn’t work out well and our happy couple broke up. In 2007 Fernando decided to have a try inside the tennis world and started dating Argentinean tennis player Gisela Dulko. They broke up, of course, and Fernando started dating the gorgeous Serbian player Ana Ivanovic getting involved in a relationship that had a great impact in the media. Again things didn’t work and they broke up in early 2009. It didn’t take him long to find a new love and it seems that he’s currently dating American actress Camille Belle. How long will they last for together? He’s my idol. That’s all I can say about him.

The second in command is
Feliciano López. Feliciano, aka “Feli”, was born in Toledo in 1981. He’s 187 centimetres high and weighs 85 kilos. He has only one ATP title (Vienna) and he’s been dating Spanish model Maria José Suárez off and on for years. Although he was believed to have had an affair with Spanish TV presenter Ane Igartiburu it was never officially confirmed.

Third on our list is Carlos Moya. Carlos was born in Mallorca in 1975, he is 190 centimetres high, weighs 86 kilos, has an impressive career (20 ATP titles), and reached the number 1 in the ATP ranking in 1999. He prefers TV presenters and actresses. Carlos dated Spanish TV presenter Patricia Conde and currently is dating Spanish bombshell Carolina Cerezuela.

We’ll finish our review of Spanish latin lovers talking about Rafael Nadal, a fantastic player. Rafael Nadal was born in Manacor in 1986. So far he’s already won 6 Grand Slam titles (4 Roland Garros, 1 Wimbledon and 1 Australian Open) and has made it through Wimbledon semifinals twice more. He is dating his long-life girlfriend Xisca Perello. You can see them together in the following pictures. He’s just got back after his knee injury and I hope he’ll reach the number one again very soon.

To conclude, I’ll leave you with a nice video that summarizes Fernando and Ana Ivanovic’s love story. Best regards.

Hey friends. It’s widely know the close relationship between female tennis and the world of fashion. Everything started with Anna Kournikova. She was the forerunner of the new breed of young beautiful tennis players -most of them coming from Eastern Europe- that, when out of the court, love fashion and modeling. Anna Kournikova never won a WTA Tournament but became a symbol and a fashion icon. Since then many female players have followed her steps. Perhaps her most advanced pupil is her fellow countrywoman the gourgeous and beautiful Russian babe Maria Sharapova. Maria Sharapova is not only one of the beautiful and most beautiful athletes in the world but also plays tennis beautifully.

Maria Yuryevna Sharapova was born in 1987 to Yuri and Yelena in the town of Nyagan in Siberia, Russia. Previously her parents had lived in Gomel, Belarus, but were compelled to move after the Chernobyl nuclear accident in 1986. At the age of two her family moved to Sochi. There, Sharapova‘s father befriended Yevgeny’s Kafelnikov father, Aleksandre, who gave Sharapova her first tennis racket at the age of four. At the age of six, Sharapova attended a tennis clinic run by Martina Navratilova during the Kremlim Cup in Moscow. Martina noted Sharapova was talented but required professional training, recommending the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Florida. Sharapova and her father, neither of whom could speak English, moved to Florida in 1994 with only 700$ in their pockets. Several days after their arrival father and daughter showed up at the IMG's Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Bradenton, Florida and in December 1995 Maria received a scholarship to the Academy and became a full-time student. Sharapova turned professional in 2001, although she played a total of just two WTA tournaments in 2001 and 2002 plus six challenger events. She became the youngest girl to reach the final at the junior Australian Open in 2002, and repeated this feat at Wimbledon later in the same year.

What a pity for her numerous supporters!! Throughout her career Maria has won 19 singles and 3 doubles titles. This is the list of Maria Sharapova's titles.

- Japan Open Tennis Championships, Tokyo (singles and doubles)
- Bell Challenge, Quebec City, Canada

Sharapova is visible in and outside of the court for her looks. She might well work as a model and, in fact, she has already done some modeling. She is 187 centimeters high and her measurements are (US) 32.5-24-34 ; (EU) 82-61-86.5. Sharapova posed in a six-page bikini photoshoot spread in the 2006 issue of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. In April 2005, Sharapova was listed by People Magazine as among the 50 most beautiful celebrities in the World and in 2006, Maxim magazine named Sharapova the athlete in the world for the fourth consecutive year. She’s been signed by many companies to advertise their products. Amongst them we can quote the tennis racket brand Prince, car makers Honda and Land Rover, Motorola, Gatorade, Tropicana, Swiss sports match maker TAG Heder, Cannon Inc and the sportsclothing manufacturer giant Nike. I'll finish this post leaving a slideshow of the best Maria Sharapova's pictures and a video of Maria's photo shooting for Sports Illustrated. Best regards.
